Founded in 2006 as a family controlled business, Yard 158 Arena has grown in goodwill and popularity to become a sought-after venue for a wide variety of events of different sizes from 50 up to over 5000.
From the mid-70s to late 90s, the facility was the bustling construction works Yard of 158 Baresel Limited, erstwhile construction giants. The yard was home to scores of heavy plant and machinery engaged in the production of various materials for major infrastructure projects around Nigeria.
Some of the projects handled include:
- Festac Town – Construction of entire infrastructure
- Lagos State Government Secretariat Alausa – Sewage System
- Ajaokuta Steel Rolling Mill – Infrastructure
- FCT, Abuja Sewage Treatment Plant – Pioneer Contractor
The facility is now converted into a superior multi-function Arena with outstanding facilities and services. The expansive 5-acre space is aesthetically designed to merge its past with its present use hence the Twin Silo Towers previously used for industrial production of concrete mixers are proudly retained in their original position in the former works yard in celebration of the Arena’s checkered history. Towering 26m above the ground today, they welcome guests on arrival to this unique Arena.
