Zenith Bank Nigeria Wins Awards
The excellent quality services and strong corporate governance of Zenith Bank Plc have attracted international recognition as the bank has won two awards in the Global Banking & Finance Review awards for 2015.
Global Banking & Finance Review awards are given to institutions all over the world various categories covering Banking, Foreign Exchange, Leadership, Insurance, Hedge Funds, Pension Funds, Asset & Wealth Management among others. Zenith Bank emerged winner as Best Customer Service Bank and Best Corporate Governance Bank in Nigeria.
The best customer service award is an attestation to Zenith Bank’s best-in-class customer-centric service delivery which made the bank the best in the KPMG Banking Industry Customer Satisfaction Survey (BICSS) in 2013 and 2014.
The KPMG survey, which confirmed Zenith Bank’s status as the most customer-focused bank, focused on the perceived quality of customer service delivery by banks from the customer’s perspective across the retail, corporate/commercial and small & medium sized enterprises (SME) segments.
For the second consecutive year in the retail segment, Zenith Bank emerged as the most customer-focused bank.
Similarly, a survey conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) to determine the most respected companies and chief executives in Nigeria in 2014, Zenith Bank emerged first among the banks. In arriving at the conclusion, PWC said a respected company is defined by these enviable parameters: A good corporate citizen, which is socially responsible with high ethical standards; a trusted company, which promotes good values with a unique and excellent leadership style, coupled with strong management principles and structure plus a smooth succession plan as well as a very resourceful company with excellent business culture.
Others are: a visionary and revolutionary company with strong focus, innovative with popular brands of high quality; engaging in human capital development and high capacity building and an indigenous company with high local content. Good corporate governance practice, high shareholder interest and value, harmonious industrial relations, friendly and good working environment, global and internationally recognised (Multinational) and size of company/largest in Africa/industry leader were other parameters used in arriving at their inference.

This reflects in the bank’s consistent impressive growth pattern and performance, which have earned Zenith Bank excellent ratings from local and international agencies.
The bank ended the first quarter to March 31, 2015 with 20 per cent growth in gross earnings which stood at N113 billion. Profit before tax (PBT) appreciated by 14.6 per cent to N33 billion up from N28.9 billion in the comparing period of 2014, while profit after tax (PBT) performed better, growing by 17 per cent to N27 billion from N23.6 billion in 2014.
