Infinix Hot 3 Review: 5 Things You Need to Know

infinix hot 3 review

Again, it is all about the camera.

The Infinix Hot 3 boasts a 2MP front camera which utilizes a 16:9 light chip and 1.6 µm large pixel for high definition picture quality as well as an 84°wide-angle shooting range which grants users, even more, freedom and coverage for their Selfies.

In fact, the phone has been dubbed “the selfie phone”.

It is the sequel to the Infinix Hot 2 (2015) and it was launched in the first quarter of 2016.

It features a more beautiful design, user interface, improved battery life and better front camera (for selfie takers) compared to the Infinix Hot 2.

So, let’s take a look into the 5 important facts we have for you in this review.

So, What’s special About The Hot 3?

It is a sleek yet durable device crafted with user experience in mind.

It is definitely more beautiful than its predecessor and it boasts a glass like feeling at the back.

It is fashioned out of plastic and finished in diverse colors to suit different tastes. Your color options include Blue, Black, White, and red.

Speaker grills are at the bottom back of the device beside the Hot logo and just beside the grills by the side is the allowance put to easily pry the back open in case of battery removal or sim swap.

Sited at the back of the device is the 8 MP shooter at the top of the phone (just beside the flash) and the speaker grills at the bottom beside the Hot logo.

The volume and power buttons are situated at the top right-hand side of the Infinix Hot 3. There are no buttons on the left side of the device.

The 5.5-inch screen has a full HD laminate display (720 x 1280 pixels) designed for high precision processing, which prevents glare while minimizing the distance between glass and screen for exceptional clarity and vivid picture quality.

However, the touchscreen is not as responsive as the hype that was around the display. Nonetheless, the screen is better than a lot of other mid-range phones in the market.

2) Features

It is equipped with an 8MP back shooter and 2MP selfie camera with soft flash.

The 2MP front camera utilizes a 16:9 light chip and 1.6 µm large pixel for high definition picture quality.

Selfie soft light provides an ambient environment for natural selfies; real-time smart beautification instantly kicks it up a notch for the most charismatic you.

There are other exciting features of the Hot 3 including:

  • Smile recognition (smart recognition for smiles)
  • Gesture recognition (fun selfies)
  • Voice recognition (smart recognition for the phrase “capture” or “ cheese”)
  • Timed photos(great for selfies)
  • Touch capture (touchscreen for instant focus and capture)
  • Focus Tracking(essential tool for spontaneous capture)

The 8MP back camera utilizes OV8865 sensor and 5-element lens camera to enhance light intake efficiency for superior picture quality. Compatibility with HDR high dynamic range yields vivid and detailed photos.

The back camera, however, doesn’t possess the ultra high-definition video 4k video recording capability of the Infinix Zero 3.

3) Software & Hardware

It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. In addition, Infinix introduces an XUI interface which is said to have been optimized to deliver long standby time.

HOT3 features the MediaTek MT6580 quad-core processor. Also included is a 16GB internal storage and support for up to 32GB of external storage.

Both 1 and 2GB RAM options are available to complement individual usage requirements.

XUI is designed to optimize power consumption for long-lasting standby time.

The sound from the stereo speakers is not necessarily a Dolby Audio quality.

Notwithstanding, you can enjoy high-quality music with the 2nd generation music amplifier which utilizes unique RNS and noise canceling technology from Aiwei to effectively limit TDD noise.

Anti sound-break technology is also implemented to smooth out tracks for superior playback quality.

This phone can hold 3,000 mAh of electric charge. It has an advertised talk time of 20 hours, 9hr of web browsing, and 33hr of music.

It also goes from zero to 100% charge in less than 6 hours which is more than enough for the average phone user.

Should You Trust Or Run?

If there is one thing we have learned from this review, it is that the Hot 3 is a slight upgrade to its predecessor.

It lacks some of the killer features of the Infinix Zero 3 but it, however, offers a good value for the money.

If you are considering a mid-range phone for everyday use, the Hot 3 is for you.

Verdict: Trust!

So, what is your opinion?
