Fanboys have been asking, “When will the Infinix Note 4 be released to the public?”

Relax, the Infinix Note 4 is here. And contrary to our prediction, it was finally unveiled on July 3rd, 2017.

Infinix Mobility has the habit of launching its Note series in August. And many of us expected that this trend will continue.

But we were wrong and the device was released in a launching event in Lagos 0n the 3rd of July 2017.

Here’s a look back at previous Infinix Note launches:

¥          Infinix Note » September 7

¥          Infinix Note 2 » September 9

¥         Infinix Note 3 » September 9

¥         Infinix Note 4 » July 3

Now that the device has been officially launched, what has the device brought to the table that the competitors are lacking?

What to expect from the Infinix Note 4

Display and Design

Unlike the Infinix Note 3, the Infinix Note 4 features a 5.7-inch screen size. Howbeit, a better resolution, and display quality.

It has a resolution of 1920 by 1080 (full HD) and it even supports the new X-pen. The screen is unbelievably colorful, clear and dynamic.

The design of this new device is quite astonishing. Unlike the all-metal design of the Note 3, its body is a combination of both metal and plastic.

Metal at the sides and a premium looking plastic back cover made of Polycarbonate. You can but think of the Samsung Galaxy S Series when holding the Infinix Note4.

A new addition to the design is the inclusion of a physical home button which was absent in the Infinix Note 3.

The home button houses the fingerprint scanner.

The speaker grille(for receiving calls) and 8MP front camera are located at the top of the display side of the phone.

The Power button and volume rocker are on the right side of the phone while the left side is almost empty.

The earphone jack is on top while USB port and speakers are under.

The 4,300 battery is accessible via a slit to the back of the phone although it is non-removable. And you get to insert your sim cards only by opening the back of the device.

Infinix note 4 Features

Fast Charging

The fast charging technology is here to stay and it has found its way into the new device.

With this,  you get up to 250 minutes of talk time or 6hrs of music with just 5 minutes of charging your new device.

The 18W fast charging technology allows you to charge 45% in just 30 minutes.

This is primarily due to the inclusion of trio 5.5A charging engine coupled with the MediaTek PumpExpress technology that drives your device to charge thrice as fast.

Aeroscope Cooling Technology

The essence of this technology is to prevent overheating.

This is the second smartphone from Infinix that uses this technology after it was successfully incorporated into the Note 3.

Massive Battery

It comes with a 4300 mAh battery which is an improvement on the 4050mAh battery used found in its predecessor.

Running out of “battery juice” won’t happen.

Under room temperature conditions (25°C), 15 min charges 1000mAh for up to 8 hr of talk time; 60 min charges up to 97% and 90 min is a full charge. WOW!

Moreover, the Ultra power saving mode which will power only 6 basic apps for minimal power usage will offer up to 5hrs talk time till you finally get to charge your device.

The XCharge 4.0 technology will ensure that a full charge will last you up to two days of above average usage and 1.5 days for heavy usage.

Fingerprint scanner

The fingerprint reader is a must have these days and the Note4 isn’t left behind.

The fingerprint scanner has been moved to the front of the device as found on the iPhone.

According to Infinix, the fingerprint sensor can be accessed by pressing down the home button for 0.15 seconds, making it one of the fastest fingerprint scanner in the market.

The X-Pen is a stylus that will be used to write on your device screen as it obtains on the Samsung Note series.

You will be able to take notes and make quick gestures using this stylus. We are yet to know how much this accessory will cost, but it sure looks pretty cool.

The NOTE 4 has the power to produce awesome pictures thanks to its excellent 13MP main camera and Dual LED flash.

The 8MP front camera combines the latest selfie filters to make all of your selfies truly stunning.

It also has a front LED flash to give the much-needed brightness to your selfies.

Hardware & Software

As earlier mentioned, the new Infinix smartphone is a 5.7-inch smartphone with Full HD display, 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

It will run on Infinix’s own custom XOS-2.2 which will be based on the latest version of Android 7.0 Nougat.

It has the Multi-Windows feature which means you can simultaneously process two applications using a split-screen view.

The NOTE 4 sports a 64bit Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753 clocked at 1.3Ghz.

It is available in 2 variants which differ in RAM and Internal storage.

There is a Note 4 with 2GB RAM & 16GB ROM and the other variant comes with 3GB RAM & 32GB ROM.

They both have an external memory slot.
