Update: Following the postponement of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 launch in Nigeria and other countries, Samsung has announced their decision to stop the production of Galaxy Note 7 units worldwide.

In a press release the company stated that, “We are working with relevant regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7.

For the benefit of consumers’ safety, we stopped sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 and have consequently decided to stop production.”

Meanwhile, customers with either an original Galaxy Note 7 or a replacement Galaxy Note 7 device are advised to power down and stop using the device.

They are  to return their devices to Samsung-authorised service centres, where they’ll be guided with available options.

Those who have already returned their Galaxy Note 7 devices will also be contacted from Samsung for their options.

The  Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone is an upgrade to its predecessors, the Note 5 and Note 4 respectively.

To set it up, all you need to do is position the phone 25-30 cms from your face with your eyes in the on-screen circles and let the front-facing scanner register your iris.
